Once you’re on the mat, everything else seems to take care of itself!
Here are my tips for getting inspired and spending some time within those 4 corners!
1. A new outfit –
Sometimes looking the part can really set your tone and shift your mood. Laying out your new outfit ready for your morning workout will motivate you to get on the mat. It also feel good when your clothes fit well and you feel comfortable and confident in them. There’s nothing worse than feeling self consious when your pants are too tight or your top doesn’t sit right.
Invest in a new workout outfit that fits you really well to refresh yourself.
2. A change of scenery –
Taking your Pilates Time outside can invigorate your practise and is especially a good idea coming into this warmer weather!
Even an open door with some fresh air flowing in can do the trick.
3. Accountability Buddies –
Having a friend who is cheering you on can be super motivating. When I’ve told my friend I’ll do something, I’m more likely to follow through. It holds me accountable to myself and helps me honour the commitment I’ve made to myself. Supportive and loving friends want me to feel good and succeed. It’s okay to share your struggles and failed attempts. True friends understand. But when your friend tells you that you can reach your goals, believe them! They have faith in you and know you are strong, capable and committed.
4. It’s okay to go SLOW –
I know! A difficult thought for our hyper busy friends! But our bodies need rest and benefit from slowing down every so often. Slow movement and rest is not wasted time. It will allow your body to heal and your mind to slow down to clarify your thoughts and process emotions.
Try some deep breathing throughout the day and mindfulness when you’re on your mat. When you notice your thoughts are drifting off to the next thing on your list, gently bring yourself back the present moment.
